Another standout performance to highlight at SXSW is Raury, who was all over the place, but up above at the mtvU Woodie Awards.
Here’s his rendition of the song that got me (and probably you as well) hooked: “God’s Whisper” and it was notable for Raury’s full band and background vocals providing a complete sound and doing the record justice live. The guitars, the vocalists, and Raury’s energy were all superb. I wonder how this would sound if Raury went Kanye-style on the live autotune too. Maybe for an indoor stadium one day…
