Day 1 of the best time of the year was today and leading the way, especially for us Bulls fans, was Derrick Rose looking like the MVP of old in his first game back in the Playoffs since the first of his knee injuries 3 years ago.
He finished with 23 points, 7 assists, on numerous attacking drives and 3 straight 3s in the 3rd quarter. He even showed some emotion pumping up and saluting the crowd after a 10 points 2nd quarter that, honestly, we’ve never really seen from him. He looked happy to be back and said as much in the various interviews also included above. Love his zen-like, no expectation approach. And now that he’s playing like this… the rest of the NBA, namely the Cavs after 3 more wins, will be taking notice…
Elsewhere, earlier in the day, Steph Curry led the Warriors with 34 points in their Game 1 victory over Anthony Davis (35 points) and the Pelicans. The Dubs led by as much as 25 but Davis led the Pelicans back in the 4th to make it a game. The iconic highlight from today… Steph below.
