Blake Griffin’s 3 dunks on Aron Baynes

Night 2 of the Playoffs was highlighted by Game 1 of the Clippers-Spurs series that felt more like a Game 7. The execution and pace of play were the most quality of the weekend and it was CP3 & Blake Griffin who led the Clips to victory 107-92. Paul was magnificent with 32 PTS, 7 REB, 6 AST and Griffin adding 26 PTS, 12 REB and 3 DUNKS on Aron Baynes. Whoo.

Relevant: The 2:05 mark of one of my favorite jams to drop in the past month.

Honorable Mention (for highlight of the day): Kyrie Irving shaking and baking to beat the first half buzzer.

Giannis Statue of Liberty Dunk

This wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t so damn good. I can watch this Vine the rest of the night, but I’m out!

“U Mad”, New York?

Before I do though, I also reeled you in with 20-year old Giannis Antetokounmpo to also show why Tim Duncan is one of the greatest.

This was to seal the game and likely the division title over Houston and a 2 or 3 seed for the Spurs’ upcoming title defense. HUGE.

Block or foul?

Andrew Wiggins vs. Rudy Gobert

Last night in the NBA served up some great highlights… leading off with Andrew Wiggins serving up The Stifle Tower, Rudy Gobert…

Not once…

But twice…

And this second time was about as great of a posterization as we’ve seen this season.

But it wasn’t over.

Many people will simply gravitate towards the impressive Wiggins stuffs, but fail to recognize when the big guy gets his redemption. For Rudy Gobert, that was sweet enough to match the flexing Wiggins did after his second dunk.

Guys, there’s now reason to look forward to a budding Timberwolves-Jazz rivalry for years to come.

I say this in half-jest because both teams aren’t very close to the playoffs this year, but at the same time, both teams legitimately have an exciting young core that is showing the promise of being something legitimate for years to come. As an NBA junkie, I’m… wait for it… legitimately excited.

If dunks and blocks at the rim aren’t your thing, then maybe Kyle Korver 3s are. Namely in the form of 11 points on 4 straight jumpers in 65 consecutive seconds. Unfortunately, Korver was on the line for one of the 4, but that doesn’t take away from how impressive this was. I love how by the 3rd one you can see how laser focused Korver is in getting the ball and it’s a real forgone conclusion after he lets it fire. The NBA, still amazing in March.

And finally, if dunks, blocks, or 3s aren’t your thing than that obviously leaves Mario Kart. Here’s the new T’Wolves’ version that makes you wish it was real.

Damian Lillard dunks over Rudy Gobert

Had to throw some semi-belated shine to a highlight from late last night as Damian Lillard provided yet another 4th-quarter poster. This one still had 7 minutes left, but it was a close game the Blazers ended up eeking out by 1, making this poster of the “Stifle Tower”, Rudy Gobert all the more necessary as much as awesome. This 4th quarter smash + stink face from Lillard is really becoming a thing. Expect more of it on the heels of Lillard’s all-star snub too.
