Also releasing the week of Thanksgiving is David Guetta’s new album, Listen. For the title track, he tabs John Legend for what may prove to be a hit single.
Legend sings throughout, as you’d imagine, first over a slow piano that’s his most natural fit. Then Guetta takes over and transforms the track into a catchy upbeat jam that Legend fits well too. Lyrically, it’s an inspiring track, especially from the first verse as I could only think of our “Gowhere You Love” mantra as I visualized what Legend was singing about. I’ll leave you to discover it all below, and again, I wouldn’t be surprised if the masses get behind this on the radio and such soon.
I should also note that Guetta’s Listen album sounds really solid with the tracks I checked out. All of the Sia collabs are superb as Emeli Sande & Skylar Grey also contribute for nice individual listens as well. Definitely a good soundtrack for when you’re with a group of people too so be on the lookout November 24th.
ICYMI: David Guetta f/ Nicki Minaj & Afrojack “Hey Mama”
John Legend co-signed, which is enough for me to press play. Legend unveiled this latest, official remix of his current Love In The Future single “You And I”, as produced by R3hab. It calls for sped up vocals and a more overall uptempo vibe, which works like much of Legend’s vocals recently remixed over dance/electronic beats (that Tiesto remix of “All of Me” is still fire). Enjoy this one below.
What a way to deliver the message of “You & I (Nobody In The World)”. After the explosion of “All of Me”, it’s only right the singles from Love in the Future keep coming and “You & I” is certainly along those sentimental lines. For the video, Legend first features his stunning wife Chrissy Teigen, but only briefly, as subsequent shots then mirror Chrissy’s centered close-up to show that… everyone is beautiful. Don’t forget that! Love that this message was driven home with so many women following Teigen. Watch the emotional new video from Legend above!
A quick rundown of the 2014 BET Awards Performances, in case you missed it. We had Beyonce & Jay Z sending in a video of “Partition” to close the show (hah! kinda funny), Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne performing his new single “Krazy”, John Legend & Jhene Aiko together (!), Trey Songz & August Alsina squashing their beef, Chris Brown back, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Robin Thicke, T.I. & Iggy Azalea, Pharrell, and more. And start it all off with how the show did: host Chris Rock‘s hilarious opening monologue as he takes fun jabs at Solange & Jay Z, Oprah, Rick Ross, Kevin Hart, and Donald Sterling.
Plus, some fun GIFs, MEMEs, and the like below too!

John Legend took a break from his All of Me Tour, albeit a small one because he was in Vegas last night, but a break nonetheless to treat the national TV viewing audience for another performance of “All of Me” on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The 4-person string section added a refreshing touch to the live performance I’ve seen a handful of times now. It reminded me of Lindsey Stirling‘s violin addition to “All of Me” (brought back below) that I actually listen to more than the original.
This performance also got me to thinking… 5, 10 years from now… “All of Me” is now John Legend’s last song in concert right? His biggest song to date? And your go-to wedding song? Methinks “yes” to all three.
