The rise of Children of I.L.L.I.O.S. begins with “Journey Through The Blakk Sun”, the debut LP of West-Side duo of Kairo Jones and Musa Reems. The 15-track project is an eclectic mix of sounds that Hip-Hop heads alike would really enjoy. Personally, my favorite tracks on this project are Elysian, Paragon, Icarus, Completeness, Indigo Child, Zenith, and Solstice, which give the best illustrations of what this prolific duo has to offer in its sound. Listening and being able to reflect on this project after hearing their last project and EP has been a huge difference in understanding the identity that this duo has solidified through its wavy beats, full of soulful samples and uncanny lyricism. Although both Kairo and Musa have been recently developing within the Chicago Hip-Hop scene I’d honestly suggest to not overlook these two hungry and humble juggernauts as our city’s most promising Hip-Hop upstarts.

return with their latest visual “Elysian”, which was also selected for Chicago Young Author’s Louder Than A Bomb 2015 mixtape. The heavenly flows of Musa and Kairo behind the celestial production of Moods is a perfect illustration of what these two kids can do. This single marks the fourth official release of the duos forthcoming project “Journey Through The Blakk Sun”, slated to drop very soon.
