Weezy returns. How we liking the album so far?
On top of his appearance on First Take today, Lil Wayne takes to Apple Music to release his new video for the Charlie Puth assisted single, “Nothing But Trouble”. The song takes aim at IG models and the video cleverly follows suit presenting them as cardboard cutouts. I’m not a fan of the song really, but the visuals at least take it to a higher level. Who else is with me in wanting more of a street single from Weezy tho?
Lil Wayne made it a trending topic all morning — his appearance once again on ESPN First Take that had many speculating about such actual appearance. Wayne talks softly and he may be construed as aloof, but it doesn’t seem that unusual to me. Maybe it’s because he predicted the Lakers are making the playoffs?
It was about the content of the whole segment for me though and Weezy talked about his beloved Packers losing Jordy Nelson yesterday to a torn ACL, how he became a Packers fan in the first place, his views on Tom Brady & Deflategate, and finally: a rave review of Straight Outta Compton. ICYMI, enjoy up above.
James Harden, CP3, and Allen Iverson were among the stars in attendance at the NBAPA Player Awards that aired on BET last night (recorded Sunday in Vegas.)
Below, BET put together a classic, but always interesting video asking the above stars and more what they listen to before games. CP3 is pretty set on Weezy, who also performed “Glory” live on stage below, and AI… well, he’s pretty set on a certain artist too and it’s probably one you wouldn’t think of at first. Enjoy!
