Smoko Ono has to be on your radar as one of Chicago’s rapid rising producers after dropping bangers like Vic Mensa’s “Feel That”. The Save Money affiliate returns with more ammunition as he enlists Njomza on his latest single “Road Runner” which will be on his forthcoming project Slackin-N-Mackin Vol.1 that drops in the fall.
Hold on, this is going straight to the top of my R&B playlist.
Sorry, I enjoy puns. But that’s besides the point because it’s refreshing to hear some new music from Chicago singer Njomza, whom you may know from Mac Miller’s REMember Music. Njomza lays down an especially nice flow over this original remake/flip of Drake’s “Hold On We’re Going Home” crafted in collaboration with producer Lyfe Harris. The words resonate with me from an appreciation standpoint, touching on the same theme as Drake’s. But this is from a female perspective and when Njomza speeds it up and sings these words in one breath, it’s perfect. An easy *Tibs Fav. for me — get in tune and listen/download below.
