Super Bowl Weekend brought out a surprise performance from Kanye West as he appeared alongside the DirectTV headliner, Rihanna. Doesn’t get much bigger than that, especially with both superstar artists poised for new albums this year and on the heels of “FourFiveSeconds” last weekend.
Here’s a roundup of some clips via Team Kanye Daily, our homie Curt Chambers (Rihanna’s guitarist), and even Mark Cuban. Plus, scroll below for the now infamous Waffle House pics that (rightfully) took Twitter by storm, post-show in Phoenix.
Great news for my second home of Minneapolis today as the NFL has decided their brand new stadium at the site of the old Metrodome will host the 2018 Super Bowl. It’s great to see the NFL expand to new cities and venues for their big spectacle and Minneapolis will definitely be a standout one in the heart of winter and with their gorgeous new stadium providing cinematic views of the skyline, as seen in the fly-through video above.
I covered more about the HKS Architects-designed stadium when they revealed the renderings last year here. The stadium will open for the 2016 season with the Vikings calling University of Minnesota’s outdoor TCF Bank Stadium a temporary home these next two seasons.
The big looks for Chicago EDM group Krewella continue with their feature in Bud Light’s series of Super Bowl ads! If you missed it, the Bud Light campaign was centered on surprising a lucky fan who was tweeting at them with extravagant VIP experiences. The one that ran during the game brought a fan to play ping pong with Arnold Schwarzenegger. This one treats a lucky fan and guests of the nightlife spot she’s at with a surprise performance from Krewella. The cameras follow the Krew off the bus and onto the stage where “Enjoy The Ride” is highlighted in the one minute spot. Watch above!
Bruno Mars & Red Hot Chili Peppers — widely regarded as positive from the Twitter people I follow. And I agree. High class, high quality — especially the “Just The Way You Are” dedication from the troops. How can you not appreciate? And damn, didn’t know you had moves like that Bruno #respect.
With the Super Bowl in NYC for the first time ever, it has added a new level of intrigue for the game (weather conditions) and media attention since it’s the media capital of the world. It was cool to monitor how the city has been adapting to the attention — none cooler than this image though to me. I’m a sucker for when the Sears Tower here at home changes the colors below the antennas. Here, the Empire State Building is flanked with Seahawks and Broncos colors. So, who ya got?!
I got Broncos 19, Seahawks 14. Simply because of this…
