T.I. albums usually take multiple listens for it to grow on me (yup, even Urban Legend and King) but on his latest this weekend, The Dime Trap, track 01 has been bumpin’ all weekend.
Chappelle begins his narrating endeavor, T.I. opens up lyrically, but it’s Sam Hook and the band that closes it out at the end that takes the cake for me.
T.I. returns to his actual project steps for the visual of the same name. For fans who want more T.I. back in his roots, this song and video is for you.
ICYMI last night, here’s Tyler The Creator’s must-see hilarious appearance as a talk show guest, not musical performer, on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
I laughed at everything from Tyler’s entrance, stories of how he got his name from MySpace to getting fired from Starbucks, and how he explains his cool new Golf Media app. Just how he interacts with Jimmy is great, and there’s even one more story I purposely left out so you can just watch it below.
An honest-to-God good luck to Tyler for some of the creative endeavors he mentioned as well, like owning his own TV network. Lookin’ forward to his next moves.
BONUS: Scroll below for T.I.’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s Game Night, where he tells NBA Players not to rap in a very humorous PSA style video.
Continuing the Entourage buzz this week is another cool feature from Complex as they interviewed Doug Ellin on 8 must-see episodes (1 from each season) that you should re-watch before you see the movie on Thursday.
Among them was Eminem’s memorable cameo in the Season 7 finale when he punched a drugged out Vinny Chase during the latter’s rock bottom freefall. How did that all come about? Here it is from Doug himself:
“I got some flack for this season, but I enjoyed it. It was a thrill to have [Eminem] on the show, he actually put some lyrics about the show in one of his songs about Entourage and Johnny Drama. Paul Rosenberg called me and said Eminem would love to be on the show, you just need to give him an idea that he likes. You get a little nervous when you have to get on the phone with [someone like] Eminem, I don’t know what he is or isn’t going to like. So I said, ‘What if Vince gets drunk and says something to you that you don’t like and you punch him in the face?’ And he goes, ‘I love that.'”
