Tecmo Super Bowl 2015

Who else grew up on Tecmo Super Bowl?!

The iconic video game was the NFL staple before Madden as it featured a fantastic arcade and simulation mix in the early 90s. The game was revolutionary for a variety of reasons: adding to the legend of Bo Jackson with the literally unstoppable Virtual Bo (this video never gets old) and, for simulation geeks like me, allowing gamers to play actual seasons, complete with player injuries too.

Well, to my pleasant surprise, I can’t even remember how, but I stumbled upon Tecmo Super Bowl 2015 — a new computer version of the game with rosters updated to Monday and the ability to play this year’s season game-by-game, week-by-week. I was immediately enthralled by the nostalgic graphics, animations, and colors as I naturally started Week 1 with our hometown Bears vs. the Bills. If my Tecmo Super Bowl prowess is indicative of tomorrow’s game, we can expect a shootout where, of course, Chicago prevails.

Enjoy my Week 1 win in the slideshow above and download the game for yourself here — true to the old Nintendo/NES/Sega Genesis versions you all know and loved.

NBA 2K15 Yakkem Trailer

NBA 2K15 is less than 2 months away and above is another new breathtaking trailer that features a couple new additions this year: Ernie Johnson & Shaq! This should add another level of authentic realism for the 2K presentation before games and at halftime. The preview of EJ & Shaq is perfect too — stay tuned through the end and you’ll see why it’s called the “Yakkem” trailer.

In between, you’ll see more amazing footage of other new additions — the new additions to the Cavs, Bulls, Lakers, and more. Familiar faces in new threads, it always feels different. Keep a close eye and you’ll see Boozer in a Lakers uni pushing Gasol in a Bulls uni. HEY! They just need to have the Boozer screams, and we’re good. I’ll prolly play as the Lakers like 90% of the time if that’s the case.

Kevin Hart & Dave Franco “Madden 15 Rap Video”

Welp, that was the most random Madden commercial I’ve ever seen.

Kevin Hart & Dave Franco are definitely funny in their own right and together, they end up battling in a game of Madden, spurred on by Kevin Hart. It’s an elaborate 3 and a half minute video that features a lot of song and dance, and rap. Perhaps a touch extravagant yet falling flat at times, the video also had its moments, specifically the ending. And four dudes making fun of a stereotypical rap video, ha! Enjoy!
