theWHOevers keep evolving with each full-length release and that should keep going in 2015 as they’re actually prepping a double release titled Black & White & Born to Use Mics. It’ll explore the singing of J. Arthur like in the smooth summer jam “What’s It Gonna Be” and follow a format akin to OutKast’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
This one though: “Gangrene”… this one’s on the rap side.
Both J & DotKom kill a fresh, thumpin’ production that eventually samples G.O.O.D. Music’s “Mercy” with some high-pitched, pulsating keys. J. kills the switch-up in the beat with DotKom setting a solid tone just before. It didn’t take long for me to like this one…
