Earlly Mac f/ Big Sean “Do It Again”

Finally Famous in the buildin’ as Earlly Mac calls on his crew leader Big Sean and their frequent producer Key Wane for “Do It Again”.

This is a track addressing the pros and cons of reconnecting with that ex. You’ll see as it develops as both emcees deliver some chill, yet speedy flows over the production that compliments them. I’m not high on the hook, but the verses are the highlights. Lend an ear below and see if you can relate.

Big Sean — 4 New Songs

Big Sean hinted at new music to drop today after officially signing with Roc Nation last night and he surprises with not one, but four new songs below..!

E-40 is the lone feature (and he kills it) as production comes from some heavy hitters like… DJ Mustard & Kanye West co-producing “I Don’t Fuck With You” (with DJ Dahi). You can tell who produced what parts of that song, ha. MikeWillMadeIt and Chicago’s Da Internz and Nate Fox also assist in the whole set below. His most lyrical one is “4th Quarter” that gets better as it goes. The other records are more on the feel good party/club vibe that may suit your style too.

Oh, and the “you” in “I Don’t Fuck With You”: probably Naya Rivera.

You knew it was comin! The full album stream for Jhene Aiko’s Souled Out, available in stores and everywhere in less than a week, September 9th. Souled Out is slim on the vocal features with Common, Cocaine 80s, and Jhene’s daughter and late brother the lone ones. I’m fans of all of the above and can’t wait to listen/support this week, especially on the heels of the Childish Gambino well-directed visuals for “The Pressure”.

Ariana Grande f/ Big Sean “Best Mistake”

Ariana Grande x Big Sean — not only in music. Reports are sizzling that the two are now a couple after recent public breakups for each. But the potential romance aside, “Best Mistake” is a nice collab in itself as Key Wane flexes some versatility in the production by slowing things down for the canvas for the two to describe a relationship that was their “Best Mistake”. I was particularly impressed with Grande’s voice that simply booms throughout the record. Sean’s addition definitely has its moments too as he continues to experiment with his flow. All in all, a *Tibs Fav. that’ll be appearing on Grande’s upcoming album, My Everything, out August 25th.

Song since removed.

Jazmine Sullivan f/ Meek Mill “Dumb”

A video featuring muppets? Or puppets? Not sure of the technical term here, but nevertheless, Jazmine Sullivan and Meek Mill combine for J’s return single and play themselves while also depicting the story of the song with puppets. It makes for an interesting take to say the least. Produced by Key Wane and Salaam Remi, directed by Isaac Rents, off the upcoming album Reality Show dropping sometime in 2014.
