16 minutes of tight rhymes from some names you know and names you don’t. Given the strength of this production, I’m game for all of it as Trick Trick and Dej Loaf put down their own verses and the rest of the list features: Guilty Simpson, Black Milk, Sino, Marv Won, Payroll, Hydro, Big Gov, Boldy James, Kid Vishis, Big Herk, Icewear Vezzo, Detroit Che, Calicoe, and Diezel. Eminem just released it himself.
No Obie though? He had to put out his own remix? *shrugs*
Eminem ‘Shady XV’ (Album Stream)
It’s Shady XV day — celebrating 15 years of Shady Records since Marshall’s debut album, The Slim Shady LP. It’s a 2-disc set with the 1st containing all new records from the label; Eminem appearing on over half of them. Disc 2 is some familiar classics + the bonus track demo version of “Lose Yourself” that dropped last week and I have a full review on in the link.
Of the new Eminem tracks on Disc 1, and save for the official releases before today, I’d check “Twisted” with Skylar Grey & Yelawolf. Em’s familiar collaborator for a killer female hook does it again, yet this one’s different because the song is, as advertised, twisted. Brings me back to the Eminem of 10/15 years ago.

With Shady XV in stores today, Marshall celebrates with the release of the “Guts Over Fear” video that illustrates a parallel storyline to his come-up from nothing. Serious 8 Mile vibes as we follow a boxer try to work a day job and up the ladder for himself and his family. The story feels a little more powerful given Eminem’s verses, especially the end of his second one when the boxer triumphs. Use this as some Monday motivation above!
